On Wednesday, February 15, the Veterans Support Group of McDonough received a guitar donation from Mrs. Annette Edwards, widow of Eugene Edwards, former NAACP President from 2002 – 2018. Henry for Music Director Jerry Hesselink presented the late Eugene Edwards’ guitar to Jim Dunn, CEO of the Veterans Support Group in McDonough. The guitar will be used as part of the Veterans music therapy program.

Mrs. Edwards, Chair of the Henry County Schools Board of Education, was accompanied by her daughter Monique. Mrs. Edwards said she knew her late husband would want the instrument to continue making music and that the guitar was very special to him as well as their family and she “wanted to see the instrument utilized for a purpose.”
