Don Edgar E’Dalgo, Jr.

  Don Edgar E’Dalgo, Jr., age 78, of Stockbridge, Ga., passed away February 24, 2019.

Herbert Roscoe Hicks

  Mr. Herbert Roscoe Hicks, age 103, of McDonough, Ga., passed away on Wednesday, March 13, 2019. He was born May 9, 1915 in Henry County, Ga., to the late Mose Roscoe and Susie Capps Hicks. He was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Catherine McAnsh Hicks; brothers, Arvel and James Hicks; sisters, Hazel Greer and Moselle Phillips. He served his country from 1943-1946 in the United States Army Corps of Engineers in Germany. He was a member of Salem Baptist Church and attended faithfully until his health no longer permitted. He owned /operated several barber shops in the Atlanta area including Henry Grady Hotel (Westin Plaza) and Lenox Square Mall; and served as the first president of the Georgia Professional Barber’s Association. 

  Survivors include a daughter, Donna and Bob Shurbutt; grandchildren, Amy and Ruben Fernandez and Keith and Tiffaney Shurbutt; great grandchildren, Emily, Drew and Will Quinlan, Jay, Chad and Callie Shurbutt; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

  A service to celebrate his life was held Sunday, March 17, 2019 at 3 p.m. at Haisten Funeral Home. For those who wish, donations may be made to Golden Crest Assisted Living, 425 Country Club Drive, Stockbridge, GA  30281 or to Southern Grace Hospice, 384 Racetrack Road, McDonough, GA  30252.
