The workshop will focus on preserving food safely and will be taught by University of Georgia Family and Consumer Sciences Agent, Susan Howington.

“It’s going to be a hands-on class where the participants will be able to make a blueberry jelly,” said Howington.

The Extension Office regularly hosts classes on gardening, food

preparation and related topics. Howington, who also serves as the agency’s coordinator, said such classes typically generate a good response from the community.

“Usually, a class will fill up very fast, so I will say that once you see it, if you’re interested, you might want to go ahead and sign up and get your name in on the spot.

Class size is limited. Registration forms will be accepted by mail, with checks made payable to the Extension Office, 97 Lake Dow Road, McDonough, GA 30252. For more information, call 770-288-8421.
