Steven Craig Foster

  Steven Craig Foster, age 60, of McDonough, Ga., passed away July 8, 2019. He was born in Atlanta, Ga., to Joyce and Leon Foster. He graduated from Henry County High School in 1978. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends.

  Survivors are brothers Mark  (Dee) and David; nephews Kody and Ryne Foster. Great-nephew Turner. Several cousins and a special aunt and uncle.

  A memorial service was held at Flippen United Methodist Church on Saturday, July 13, 2019 with Rev. Ken Huff and Rev. Dave Riley officiating.

Fredrick Blankinship

  Mr. Fredrick Blankinship was born January 27, 1942 in Atlanta, Ga., and passed away July 26, 2019 in Stockbridge, Ga., at the age of 77. Fredrick, the son of Emma Williams and Fredrick Blankinship was a long time resident of Hampton, Ga. In his early years, he was an employee of Grinnell Corporation. He loved to work on cars and was a big fan of westerns. He was loved by his family and friends and will be dearly missed. Fredrick is preceded in death by his parents, Emma Baxter Williams and Fredrick Blankinship; sons, Troy Blankinship and Johnnie Blankinship and brother, Robert Blankinship.

  Fredrick leaves to cherish his loving memories, beloved friend Judy Reeves; sons, Michael (Jenny) Blankinship. Freddie Blankinship; daughter, Debbie Wise; 13 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren; brothers, Gary (Carol) Williams, Lee (Karen) Williams and Jimmy Blankinship; sisters, Dot (Jerry) Tucker, Trisha Crane and Wanda Stigall and step mother, Mary Blankinship.

  A graveside service to celebrate the life of Mr. Fredrick Blankinship was held on Wednesday, July 31, 2019 at 3 p.m. at Forest Hills Memorial Gardens 722 Conley Rd, Forest Park, GA 30297. Alton Wilson officiated.

Carolyn Moore

  Carolyn Moore, age 88, of McDonough, Ga., passed away July 31, 2019. She was born on April 17, 1931 in Bowman, Ga., to the late Crawford and Azalee Payne. Mrs. Moore was a member of the First Baptist Church of McDonough where she was also a member of The Gleaners Sunday School class. Carolyn was preceded in death by her husband, George Stovall Moore, Jr., daughter, Laura Camille Moore, son, George Stovall Moore III, her brother, Martin Duncan and a sister, Percy Payne Mitchell.

  Survivors are her children: Kimberly Moore of McDonough, Steven Moore (Kathy) of Jackson, David Moore (Sharon) of McDonough, daughter-in-law, Kathy Spencer of Columbus, Ga. grandchildren: George Stovall Moore IV (Christy) of Birmingham, AL, Emily Mullins of Indianapolis, Ind., Jonathan Moore of Cumming, Ga., Laura Robinson (Will) of LaGrange, Ga., Jacob Moore of Griffin, Meredith Moore of McDonough and Macy Moore of McDonough. great grandchildren: Madelyn Moore, Ada Moore, George Moore V and Collier Robinson. Niece: Jaye Goddard (George) of Kennesaw, Ga.; Nephews: Gawyn Mitchell (Dawn) of Columbus, MS, Billy Mitchell (Sheryl) of Monroe, Ga., and Clay Mitchell of Athens, Ga.

  Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, August 7, 2019 at the Chapel of Haisten Funeral Home chapel. Interment will be at the Bowman City Cemetery in Bowman, Ga., at 4 p.m. The family would like to express their appreciation to her caregivers: Hyacinth, Toy, Lateka, and Monica. Donna Bertsch Marshall

  Mrs. Donna Bertsch Marshall, age 71, of McDonough, Ga., passed away on Saturday, August 3, 2019, loving wife to the late Kenneth R. Marshall. She was born in Little Rock, Ark., to the late Henry F. Bertsch and surviving mother; Donnie Kellogg Bertsch. Donna retired from Consumer Affairs with Delta and attended Bethany Baptist Church. She enjoyed making jewelry and sewing. Donna loved her family very much, especially spending time with her grandchildren.

  Donna is survived by her children: Sherri (Russell Neal)Schumacher of McDonough and Kenneth (Jen Shelly) Marshall, Jr. of Sarasota, Fla.; grandchildren: Jeffrey Schumacher, Ian Schumacher, Kyle Schumacher, Corey Neal, Maddie Flitcraft, Zoe Marshall, Melanie Hester, Connor Marshall, Michael Shelly and Miles Marshall; sister: Judy (Keith) Craddock; and numerous nieces and nephews.

  The family will receive friends at Haisten Funeral Home on Saturday, August 10, 2019 from 12:30-2 p.m. A memorial service will be held in the chapel on Saturday, August 10, 2019 at 2 p.m. with Pastor Steve Reeves officiating. Freda Reid Turner

  Mrs. Freda Reid Turner, age 95, of McDonough, Ga., passed away, Sunday, August 4, 2019. Mrs. Turner was born December 10, 1923 in Troup County, daughter of the late Herman and Margaret Hurst Reid. She earned her bachelor’s degree from Georgia State University in 1970 and retired from the Civil Court of Fulton County after 26 years of service. She was a member of Fulton County Retired Employees Association, Henry County Genealogical Society, the James-town Society, and the DAR. In 1983, Mrs. Turner and her late husband, Memory George Turner moved from the City of Atlanta to McDonough at which time she became involved with community projects as well as abstracting, compiling, and publishing hard cover books on local Georgia history. In 2012, she was presented a Lifetime Achievement award by the Georgia Historical Records Advisory Board for her dedication to abstracting and publishing 20 books for genealogical research. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son, Edward Shropshire, and her brother, Lynn Hurston Reid.

  Survivors include her son, Sevis L. Shropshire and his wife Jackie; grandchildren, Christopher Brian Shropshire, Stephany Elliott and her husband Bill, Lauren Cinnamon; great-grandchildren, Colby Lawton Shropshire, William Elliott, Britany Elliott, Elizabeth Lightsey; great-great-grand-children, Gracie Lynn Crozier, Jolene Elliott.

  Graveside services were held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, August 6, in Myrtle Hill Cemetery in Hogansville.
