Jerry Greer wrote, “this is Joe Anderson enjoying a Budweiser while auctioning off a watermelon.” Scott Reeves wrote, “this is a picture of Joe Anderson probably in the middle of telling a funny story of Johnny Rucker or Harold McGarity or perhaps both. Watermelons are probably provided by his father-in-law Archie McGarity.”

    That is Raymond Gasses Sr, In his shoe store located on the square in Mcdonough, my mother always took me there when I needed new shoes.
    If you watch Smokey and the Bandit you can clearly see the front of Raymonds during the chase when the Bandit drives behind the little brick building that used to be the City of Mcdonough police office.
