McDonough to present Drive-in-Movies

The City of McDonough will host a series of Drive-In Movies to provide safe and fun events for all of the community to enjoy.

The first Drive-In Movie Night will be held on Saturday, October 10, at Alexander Park West, located at 110 Jonesboro Road in McDonough.  Guests are encouraged to arrive early and remain in their vehicles, as the movie will begin promptly at 7:15 p.m.  The feature film for the evening will be Spies in Disguise, a 2019 animated movie filled with action and laughs for the whole family.  Debonair super spy Lance Sterling, voiced by Will Smith, must rely on scientific genius Walter Beckett, voiced by Tom Holland, as they team up to save the world, but there is just one catch – Sterling has accidentally been transformed into a pigeon.  Join us to find out whether this unlikely duo is able to complete their mission!

Event Coordinator Cinderella Bennett showed enthusiasm for future events, stating “COVID-19 has had a major impact on how we, as a City, are able to hold events since we must take all precautions to maintain social distancing and safety measures.  Those challenges have led us to considering all of our options and left us with the opportunity to create new events that are both fun and safe for everyone involved.”

As more information will soon be released on additional Movie Nights, visit the City of McDonough’s social media pages on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter for updates and the latest information.

If this event was canceled it would be nice if someone would have posted the cancellation on the website… Huge disappointment… brought the whole family out… there are other people out here disappointed as well…

I know that’s right! Why would they have this event posted and not even show up?! We are here at 6:30pm and nothing is even set up. The event sign says start time is 7:15pm.

Yes! We took 2 hours today plan and pack up our 4 kids (not an easy task, all very young). It wouldve been nice to see some sort of response regarding a cancellation or some sort of representation. Instead we stood there and eventually left….til this day I wasn’t sure if it was officially cancelled or not.
