Henry County District I Commissioner Johnny Wilson has teamed up with American Legion Post 516 to hold a water and supply drive to send a convoy of care to Lee County Florida to help those in desperate need of basic supplies.

Donations will be accepted from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. each day beginning Wednesday, October 5 through Sunday morning, October 9, at which time the supplies will leave Henry County for Florida.

Supplies needed by residents include:

  • Bottled water
  • Non-perishable food items
  • Baby diapers and wipes
  • Toiletries (shampoo, soap, toothpaste/brush, deodorant, etc…)
  • Generators

“This hurricane was catastrophic and the people in Fort Myers and the surrounding areas are desperate for water and other supplies,” said Wilson. “I have partnered with the American Legion Post 516 on several other projects and I am proud to partner with them on this to help those in need.”
