Locust Grove issues proclamation for Parental Alienation Day

The City of Locust Grove recently issued a proclamation regarding the subject of Parental Alienation, a process through which a child becomes estranged from a parent as the result of the psychological manipulation of another parent.
The proclamation reads as follows:

Whereas: Parental Alienation deprives children of the right to love and be loved by their whole family and it is very damaging to children; and

Whereas: behaviors such as speaking negatively about a parent to, or in front of, a child can destroy the bond between a loving parent and child; and

Whereas: awareness of this issue creates education and understanding to better the lives of the children in our community; and

Whereas: April is National Child Abuse Prevention Month and Parental Alienation is considered a form of psychological abuse; and

Whereas: this year is the (2021) annual Parental Alienation Awareness Day and the caring citizens of our community will gather and join others around the world to blow Bubbles of Love to symbolize that “As bubbles flow freely, so should the natural love that a child has for both parents and both sides of their family”; now

Therefore: I, Robert Price, Mayor of Locust Grove, Georgia for the sake of the precious children of our community and the world, DO HEREBY PROCLAIM April 21, (2021) as “Parental Alienation Day and Bubbles of Love Day” in Locust Grove, Georgia.
